Donations
have continued to pour in for people displaced by flood in Anambra
State, even as some of them have started returning home from their
temporary camps.
One
of the latest donations came from the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, which
donated 200 bags of rice, 20 bags of beans, 50 cartons of bar soap, 100
rolls of tissue paper, 30 cartons ot toilet soaps, 30 cartons of Fresh
soaps, 20 cartons of detergent and 10 cartons of disinfectant to two of
two camps in Ozubulu and Atani.
Coordinator
of the foundation, Chief Tony Obi, while presenting the materials to
the victims, urged them to engage the services of experts before
resettling in their flooded homes.
Obi
said there was a clear need to ensure that the environment was safe
from environmental, health and structural risks before the victims could
move back into their homes.
Spokesperson
for the victims at the Ozubulu Camp, Mr. Sampson Igwe, praised the
foundation for the gesture and prayed God to reward it abundantly.
Meanwhile, displaced persons at the camp have started leaving for home despite warning by the state government.
