Donations have continued to pour in for people displaced by flood in Anambra State, even as some of them have started returning home from their temporary camps.
One of the latest donations came from the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation, which donated 200 bags of rice, 20 bags of beans, 50 cartons of bar soap, 100 rolls of tissue paper, 30 cartons ot toilet soaps, 30 cartons of Fresh soaps, 20 cartons of detergent and 10 cartons of disinfectant to two of two camps in Ozubulu and Atani.
Coordinator of the foundation, Chief Tony Obi, while presenting the materials to the victims, urged them to engage the services of experts before resettling in their flooded homes.
Obi said there was a clear need to ensure that the environment was safe from environmental, health and structural risks before the victims could move back into their homes.
Spokesperson for the victims at the Ozubulu Camp, Mr. Sampson Igwe, praised the foundation for the gesture and prayed God to reward it abundantly.
Meanwhile, displaced persons at the camp have started leaving for home despite warning by the state government.
