Nollywood Fake Accent: Kenyan Author Corrects Jim Iyke

Charity, they say, begins at home. A man who is not well trained at home will be well taught outside. All these African proverbs best describe the situation the Nollywood bad boy, Jim Iyke got inside into the last time.

John Kiriamiti, a Kenyan author’s whose book is been adapted for a film where Jim Iyke would be playing the lead role has advised the actor to ‘stop talking like an American’ and ‘learn how to talk like me to be able to play the role well.”

Adding further, John said, ‘Whoever has read the book has told me they read it thrice or four times and as you know in the book I wasn’t acting I was doing it for real. I hope that translates also in the movie.’

Jim, has been casted for the lead role of Jack Zolo in a new Kenyan crime thriller entitled My Life In Crime.

The movie, is an adaptation of three novels written by John Kiriamiti based on ‘his life as a real gangster’, according to sources.

The three books are My Life In Crime, My Life With A Criminal and My Life In Prison.

Jim will be joined by top Kenyan acts that include Ainea Ojiambo, Janet Kirina, Abubakar Mwenda, Melvin Alusa, Jeff Koinange, Lenana Kariba and Eddy Kimani.

“Love I would say is never enough in every relationship. There is the need for understanding, communication and above all, perseverance. That is what I call love. To be able to persevere takes a lot; it includes agreeing and taking a lot of what you want to take. That is what I call love. All that people see as love, I don’t see. If I love you, will you be able to stay with me if I don’t have money anymore? If I fall in the hands of strange people that want to ruin my life, would you be there for me? According to stories floating the internet, star Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson is currently battling anorexia.

In just 6 months, the ‘House of Gold’ actress is said to have lost over 30 pounds and counting.

 

Many of her fans wondered about the actress's sudden weight loss considering that she has always been slim, and thought perhaps it was to align with her 'new skin' brand.

 

But with her continuous decline in body weight, many now fear for her, leading to the conclusion that the 'dieting thing' may have become obsessive after-all.

 

Anorexia is an emotional disorder that comes with an obsessive desire to lose weight by refusing to eat.  It`s a medical condition that results in lack or loss of appetite for food after an apparent weight gain that needs an urgent intervention.

Ado – Odo Monarch Beaten and Strípped After Angry Mob Burnt his Palace

There was pandemonium yesterday in Ado-Odo area of Ogun State as the palace of a monarch, the Olofin of Ado-Odo, Oba Lateef Adeniran Akanni, was razed by some aggrieved youths. 

The monarch, Nigerian Compass learnt, had been having a running battle with some interest groups in the community, who allegedly did not want him despite a Supreme Court judgement validating his appointment three years ago. 

According to sources, Oba Akanni was hospitalised following the severe beating he received from the rampaging youths. 

The burnt palace has also been deserted as wives, children, family members and servants fled the area apparently for fear of being attacked again. 

Trouble was said to have started for the traditional ruler when his Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was flagged down by some people in the community.

Michael Jackson's Daughter Paris Says 'He Was An Incredible Father'

Paris Jackson opens up about her late father Michael Jackson in the Mail on Sunday's Event magazine.

According to the Daily Mail, the 15-year-old admits in the mag that Michael was a wonderful father and that all he wanted was to give her and her brothers Prince, now 16, and Blanket, now 11, a normal childhood.

"I have lots of memories of my father. He was an incredible father. We all loved him to death," Paris says, continuing, "He’d try to educate us as much as he could and was always looking out for us. He was very protective."

Paris goes on to explain that he wanted to give his children the childhood he never had, which explains why Michael always had them wear face masks while out in public.

"He didn’t want anyone to see what we looked like. That way we could have what he didn’t, which was a normal childhood," she shares.

Paris, Prince and Blanket have been living a life in the spotlight since Michael's death in July 2009, but Paris insists they are still a lot like any other kids, revealing she attends a public school so she can "have a normal high-school experience."

Next on Paris' list? Restoring the Neverland ranch, which she wants to bring back so that sick children can enjoy it.

"I cried and cried," Paris explains of the moment she saw the estate's Ferris Wheel was gone. "It’s beautiful there," she adds, "It still has good energy."

And her positive attitude and devotion to her father might explain why Paris aspires to be a heart surgeon.

"I want to help people," Paris simply states. "That's it."

Senator: Beyonce, Jay-Z Trip To Cuba Hypocritical

A Republican senator says entertainers Beyonce and Jay-Z missed a chance while in Cuba to see firsthand the effects of political oppression.

Forida Sen. Marco Rubio calls their recent trip "hypocritical" and he takes issue with the U.S. government's approval of the visit as a cultural mission.

Beyonce and Jay-Z marked their wedding anniversary in Havana last week.

U.S. citizens aren't allowed to travel to Cuba for mere tourism, though they can obtain licenses for academic, religious, journalistic or cultural exchange trips.

These people-to-people licenses were reinstated under the Obama administration.

Rubio, a Cuban-American, says such trips provide money to the Castro government to oppress the Cuban people.

Buhari Is Boko Haram’s Major Sponsor – Presidency

The Presidency has described former Head of State and presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), as the major sponsor of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram and a leading protagonist of violence.

It said that apart from his ambition to rule the country again, Buhari had refused to contribute meaningfully to actions capable of ending insecurity in the country. Buhari, a National Leader of the CPC, had, on the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Corporation on Monday, said that the Federal Government should be blamed for the lingering security challenges in the country.

According to Punch Newspaper, Buhari also flayed the Goodluck Jonathan administration for what he called “poor handling of insurgency” that had led to the death of many Nigerians and destruction of properties.

While reacting to this, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, said it was unfortunate that such a statement could emanate from Buhari. Describing Buhari as a man he respects so much, Okupe added that he had no option but to reply to his accusations against the Federal Government and the President.

Kevin Hart Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

It was a rough night for actor and comedian Kevin Hart, who was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday after driving erratically (at a whopping 90 miles per hour) on the 101 Freeway in Los Angeles.

According to the official report, police observed Hart's black Mercedes-Benz SLS driving in and out of all lanes -- and nearly colliding with a gas tanker truck -- before conducting the enforcement stop.

And that's when things went from bad to worse for Mr. Hart. Because it didn't take long for him to show visible signs of intoxication and fail the field sobriety tests.

In fact, he took to Twitter to announce what happened on his own, tweeting, "When the cop asked me to take the sobriety test I said 'WHY WASTE OUR TIME… I'M DRUNK MAN'… #TrueStory."

Apparently, the police agreed because authorities booked the "Think Like a Man" and "The Five-Year Engagement" star into jail and held him on a $5,000 bond for the misdemeanor.

Which might be why Hart isn't laughing now. Shortly after the tongue-in-cheek first tweet, Hart followed up with a more pensive thought.

"On some real s**t….. drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter," he wrote. "People have lost lives because of stupid s**t [like] this!"

The Hollywood heavyweight continued, reflecting on how this mistake relates to his own life.

"This is a wake up call for me, I have to be smarter & last night I wasn't…. everything happens for a reason…." he mused.

Hopefully this is a wake-up call indeed, as Hart is no stranger to the negative effects alcohol and drug abuse can have on lives. During his 2011 stand-up routine movie, "Laugh at My Pain," the comedian revealed how his father's drug addiction led to embarrassing behavior.

Boko Haram Ambushes Returning WAEC Students, Principal, Slits Their Throats In Broad Daylight

Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State is about putting behind it the recent killing of six secondary school teachers, including a principal, the local government was again plunged into mourning as many students were, on Saturday, murdered in cold blood by some gunmen suspected to be members of the Jama’atul Ahlis Sunnah Lid’ Awati, also known as Boko Haram.

Sunday Tribune learnt that the gunmen killed many students of Monguno Secondary School by slitting their throats, after laying an ambush for them as they returned home from centres where they wrote the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).

Monguno is 135 kilometres North of Maiduguri, the state capital; and it is considered to be an epicentre of activities of the Islamist sect.

Late Goldie Harvey Wills Her Property To Charity

Goldie's properties, according to his family are going to be auctioned for "Project Alert On Violence Against Women" Charity.

The deceased, Goldie Harvey was passionate about this organization that she was always fraternising with them.

And now that she is no more, we learnt, she has put it in record that her property should be auctioned and the money realized should go into Project Alert’s pulse.

Though, the late Nigerian artiste is gone but can never be forgotten! Her properties will be auctioned to the general public on the 1st of May 2013. The sale of her property is to raise funds for “Project Alert on Violence Against Women” NGO.

Project Alert is a non-governmental women’s rights organisation set up to provide information on all forms of violence against women and render support services to female victims of violence. Project Alert is being established to play this critical role. Ideal as it may seem to affiliate Project Alert to one of the already existing women’s rights organisation, this will only succeed in further playing down the importance and seriousness of these issues. Violence against women is a cog in the wheel of this country’s development process.

The public will be informed of the address of where this auction will take place as soon as possible.

Do you still believe in love?

I believe in love.Love is the reason for our existence.It's really not enough if you want to get something done,you have to do away with that emotion and be real.

We learnt that you are planning to go into marriage again,is it true?
I would love to remarry.Infact, I am designed to be under a man.I am not going to lie that I like this single mother nomenclature.But wherever there is one at the moment one is bound to get used to the situation.It is not a do or die affair because one has been there before,anything I have to do now must be done right.
I am not in the school of thought where the first one happened and perhaps the second one .No, any bold step I have to take in settling down must be right.I am not ready to make another mistake but I will definitely remarry.I believe in the principles of marriage whether you like it or not marriage is a better option.

How soon are planning to settle down?
I honestly do not know about that and I can't tell for now.

Have you found love again?
It's neither here nor there.I am a lover and I love to love.

Your fans will want to know if there is any man in your life at the moment?
Yes there is a man in my life.

One thing I regret most is the fact that I am divorced .Where I come from I am the first daughter.I am from a royal family .It has never been on record that the first daughter will walk out of her matrimonial home.But it is a matter of life and death otherwise I would have stayed back and make my marriage work.I tried to make it work but it takes two people to tango .
That's the only thing I regret,raising my child without the father.It's a bit painful.But I have to live with it.It's better that way than to expose my daughter to all sorts of domestic violence.It will definitely disorient her and affect her upbringing.She will be dis-functional.God knows the best,maybe I should be more careful.

The 'iron lady'' served for 3 terms straight because of her openmindedness,compassion and most especially,toughness.

John Dumelo denies marriage rumors

Wats up people! sorry i have not posted in a while......#ITtings!....was just sniffing around the web when i noticed that John Dumelo had released a statement concerning his rumoured marriage.

The hunky actor took to his twitter page to dispel rumors about his secret marriage to a woman identified as Harrrinia Dembele.

‘I wish I was really married…the fake marriage certificate really looks good. Thumbs up to my crew filmin my clothing line documentary’, @Johndumelo1 wrote referring to a fake marriage certificate which was used in the movie'

Dumelo was actually part of the movie which was shot in the US. The movie, ‘One Night in Vegas’ also features Yvonne Nelson and Van Vicker.

Harriana also denied marrying John but later swallowed her words and stated that John was in fact her husband, in an exclusive chat with Ghanaian celebrity site, Ameyaw Debrah, the actress admitted that she was legally married to John. Mercy Aigbe's Hubby disgraces her

I am just hoping Mercy was not assaulted by that man.....according to Stella Dimoko, the actress was reportedly dragged home by her husband after she went 'missing' for sometime and was later discovered in bed clothes.

'Sola Fajobi, that guy that organises NextMovieStar and Supermom has just floated 2 TV stations, V Channel and Oodua TV 

So yesterday, he hosted Mercy Aigbe, its was a recorded TV Show for Oodua Amounmaworan (TV). It was a star studded show attended by Mercy's husband and friends.
So slightly before the show ended, Mercy just vanished and everybody started looking for her including her hubby, Lanre Gentry. 

After like an hour or so, the hubby forced the MC to announced that he was looking for his wife and when that didn't work, he stood up a with fierce look and began causing a scene. 

when it was obvious he meant business,they later took him to a room where his darling wife who has arrived the venue in a short black dress with her back bare had changed to a night gown!!! 

Enraged hubby Lanre dragged her out in the night gown and threw her into his SUV and drove angrily out of the venue whilst shocked onlookers looked on!'' 

As you read this now, Mercy' s car a Nissan Solaria is in front of Sola Fajobi's Troy Lounge in Ogba 

and no tone word has been heard of what might have transpired last night. 

The question now is..Why did Mercy change into a night gown in a room whilst her hubby was in the recording room watching the show being recorded? 

Why did the couple arrive the venue in different cars?...To pose? 

What could have happened?Was the actress in the room making a movie unknown to the hubby?

5 Ways To Get Rid Of Pimples For Good

Acne is one of the most frustrating and stubborn skin problems. It plagues people of all ages and affects both male and female alike. Below are a few tips that can put a permanent end to your struggle with pimples.

1,  Prevention Is Key

Since pimples are caused by oil and bacteria that you need to keep from brewing into a blemish, prevention is key. On a daily basis, use an oil and alcohol free face wash to rid yourself of excess oil that can clog your pores and encourage the breeding of pimple causing bacteria. Also make sure you clean off all make-up before you go to bed. It is essential for your face to be clean when you go to bed so that your facial pores can breathe clean air and be rejuvenated.

2,   Keep Your Hands Off Your Face

If you want the skin on your face to look lovely, stop touching it. Most of us aren’t aware of how often we touch our faces. We relieve itches, wipe our lips and scratch our ears. Hands are the body’s primary tool to interact directly with the world around us and the world is very dirty. Sweat and oil (not to mention bacteria and viruses) spread from person to person through use of frequently touched surfaces like door knobs and table tops. This dirt is constantly deposited on your face when you touch it and this can lead to a breakout. It is also not advisable to pinch your pimples or pick at them. This just makes the situation worse.

3,    Get Some Exercise

A great way to improve your skin’s appearance — not to mention your physical, mental and emotional health — is to get some regular exercise. 30 minutes of exercise three to four times a week is preferable, but any amount is better than none. Exercise causes your body to release helpful chemicals called endorphins for the well-being of your mind, body and the skin on your face as well.

4,   Use Benzoyl Peroxide

Many people who have had trouble with pimples have gotten good results from using benzoyl peroxide.  Benzoyl peroxide kills the  bacteria that causes the inflammation which results in a pimple .It may take about three weeks for results to occur, so be patient.

5,     Change Your Pillowcase Regularly

Depending on the severity of your pimple breakouts, you need to change your pillowcases very often. This is because oil and bacteria from your face accumulate on the pillowcase. If you wash your face but place it on a dirty pillowcase, the purpose will be defeated and you will be back to square one.
